A Poem (And A Question) for Thursday (9/21)

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday, and I hope you’re all doing well. Also here’s to trudging through the day the best you can; you’re almost to the end, just a couple more hours you guys! But before I give you this week’s poem, I have a quick question: Do you have a comfort book? Like a specific book you tend to thumb through and read whenever you’re feeling bored or need to relax after a long day.

I have a lot of comfort books, though mostly its comics and manga and a few books from classes I’ve actually enjoyed; though those are in storage somewhere. Currently, and it’s a little dorky I know, but my current favorite is a huge RPG handbook I got for my birthday. In case you’re curious, the book in question is Blue Rose: the AGE RPG of Romantic Fantasy and it’s a hefty but gorgeous read–there’s even a full map of the setting attached to the back! In case you’re not curious, well, now you have further proof that I’m a nerd.

Anyway, without further ado, have a silly poem about books!

Hello, old friend, it’s me again.
Sorry it’s been while.
I’ve been busy and tired,
but it feels good to finally read you.

I’ve missed them, y’know:
the stories, the adventures…
every turn of the page
means meeting everyone again.

The characters reappear like old friends from a long trip,
and the locations are the old homes
that haven’t been stepped in in a long time.

I don’t know when I’ll pick you up again,
so I’m sorry if dust starts to stick.
But your stories never fail to bring me joy, old friend.
Right up until the end.

And there’s the poem of the day! I hope you guys enjoyed it, if you did or didn’t leave a comment below; I’d love to read your feedback so I can get better everyday. And as a bonus, why not sing the praises of your favorite books, too? It’ll be fun and I might even expand my library. I hope you all have a good rest of the day and I’ll see you next time!

This is Kryssie, signing off!
